Scammers
OMgoodness... i just got off the phone with the most persistant scam artist. I guess it serves me right for entering an online trip contest. I was trying to enter for free stuff from a site that i thought was reliable, but first i had to 'help out the sponsors' and i didnt want that crap to be filling my mailbox , so i thought ' easy enough.. a free trip! I know that i had done this earlier this week , and tonight... THEY called. It all sounded legit, until they started in about the credit card. That is when we knew that this was a scam. If it sounds too good to be true.. then it is too good to be true. And talk about persistance.. i give them credit for that. By the end of the conversation and numerous attempts in getting my credit card number, she abruptly got short and hung up..

Oh well... lol

7/10/2008 10:38:32 PM   From:  eddo   I thought we had trained you better than this. You obviously need to hang out here more.
7/11/2008 5:46:56 AM   From:  sk8r   it was a moment of weakness Eddo... It won't happen again..
7/11/2008 6:29:31 AM   From:  Jez   we had some gypsies show up wanting to paint our barn last week. southern guys. their bid was $3250! i threw em off the property.
7/11/2008 7:30:48 AM   From:  mercury   I'd paint it for you for that plus use of the pool. I'd even provide my own transportation ;o) We got an estimate last summer to paint the house: $5000. More if we decided on a different color for the trim.
7/11/2008 7:50:42 AM   From:  sk8r   i really have a hard time hiring someone to do that type of work when we can do it ourselves. It takes alot longer to get done I know.. but to fork out cash like that for something I am capable of doing just blows my mind.
7/11/2008 7:53:49 AM   From:  mercury   my thoughts exactly... and I love to paint. It was just a time factor that wasn't worth it. And I never made the time, either.
7/11/2008 9:07:00 AM   From:  eddo   wow, it only cost me $2,00 to paint my house, and that was including the big sloped roof inside my rental living room...
7/11/2008 9:18:39 AM   From:  mercury   Did you hire cheap Mexican labor with no green cards or something?
7/11/2008 9:21:57 AM   From:  eddo   nope, all white guys. lol
7/11/2008 9:47:09 AM   From:  mercury   must be the hard competition from the Mexicans bringing the price down ;o)
7/11/2008 10:14:58 AM   From:  eddo   actually, I bet it is.
7/13/2008 5:23:08 AM   From:  Itza   That's shocking. I hope she doesn't call again!
7/23/2008 11:55:12 AM   From:  eddo   just for clarification, it cost me $2,000 to get my house painted. not $200, or $2.00 or whatever the hell I typed up there.
7/23/2008 2:45:06 PM   From:  Chi   Thanks for clearing that up, we've been tossing and turning over that one since then:p
